Job Description
This 10-week internship program (June 7 2027-August 13 2027) offers a set hourly rate of $33.00 an hour and a potential pathway to full-time opportunities with Fannie Mae.
This position has multiple openings and may be based in our Washington DC (Midtown Center) or Reston VA (Reston Town Center) office.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
As a Finance intern you will do more than observe the business you will contribute to meaningful work that helps Fannie Mae support the stability and affordability of housing in America. You will join a high-impact collaborative organization where finance data technology and strategy come together to solve complex business challenges. Throughout the program you will build practical skills gain exposure to senior leaders and see how financial analysis risk management business operations and essential and evolving tools like AI help inform decisions at an enterprise scale.
What you could work on as a Finance intern:
- Turn data into insights that help inform financial loan acquisition risk or other business decisions.
- Explore how AI automation and technology can improve processes and help teams work smarter.
- Partner with teams across Finance to analyze trends prepare reports and communicate key findings to managers and stakeholders.
- Support work that strengthens financial controls business operations and risk management practices.
- Collaborate with experienced professionals ask thoughtful questions and grow your understanding of how Finance supports Fannie Maes mission.
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Qualifications
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
- Academic achievement (preferred GPA of 3.3 or higher)
- Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies including artificial intelligence to reimagine how we work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree with an expected graduation date of Spring 2028
- Finance majors with coursework and/or experience in information systems or data science are preferred
- Strong analytical background
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to contribute to a team atmosphere
- Self-starter strong business acumen and results focused
- Superior communication skills both oral and written
- Fluency and aptitude with technology applications
- Proficiency with Microsoft products including Excel Word PowerPoint CoPilot Studio and SharePoint
- Proficiency with ChatGPT including building agents skills projects etc.

The hiring range for this role is set forth below. Final salaries will generally vary within that range based on factors that include but are not limited to skill set depth of experience certifications and other relevant qualifications.
