Job Title: Call Center Agent
Job Type: Contract (6 months)
Job Salary: $20/hour
Job Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (40 hours/week) with occasional Saturdays from 8:00 AM-3:00 PM.
Job Location: Houston TX 77002
Pre-Employment Requirements: Successful completion of a background check drug screening typing test and any applicable assessments
About the Role
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Call Center Agent to serve as the primary point of contact for individuals seeking information about health programs and services. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who enjoys helping others can manage multiple responsibilities and thrives in a fast-paced customer service environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Answer inbound calls from community members regarding health services and clinic appointments.
Make outbound calls as needed to support departmental operations.
Provide accurate information resources referrals and guidance to callers.
Schedule patient appointments and assist with service coordination.
Document call outcomes and customer interactions in electronic systems.
Transfer callers to appropriate departments or community resources.
Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information.
Stay informed on available programs and services to effectively assist callers.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous call center experience required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls and requests.
Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience scheduling appointments.
Experience in healthcare public health medical office patient services or community outreach environments.
