Job Description:
Perform a variety of duties in the electronic mechanical electromechanical and optical areas. Perform calibration and alignment checks including making adjustments modifications and replacements as directed. Troubleshoot adjust test diagnose and maintains equipment components devices or systems and related equipment. Work from schematics operating or repair manuals engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Report data in prescribed format and maintains asset status in online systems.
Essential Functions:
Utilize test and diagnostic equipment to calibrate diagnose and repair equipment including working standards
Maintain detailed documentation in the calibration database including asset status location calibration outcomes and special requirements
Perform operational checks on assets and test equipment following external factory calibration
Review third party calibration certificates for completeness accuracy and potential risks or data concerns
Maintain compliance with ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls
Perform periodic maintenance of laboratory standards used to support calibration activities
Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
Qualifications:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; Or a post secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in using test equipment such as oscilloscopes meters signal generators power supplies and specialty tools used for instrument gauges
Experience required in several of the following areas: AC/DC frequency counters power sensors RF power spectrum analyzers network analyzers PXI PXIe SCXI torque pressure temperature Lab Master force fiber optics National Instruments Calibration Executive HP Vee SureCal Fluke Runtime MetTeam counters oscilloscopes DAQ generators microwave avionics dimensional measurement and HP Basic
Preferred Additional Skills:
Knowledge of general metrology practices and standards
Strong organizational skills ability to multitask effective time management attention to detail communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
In compliance with pay transparency requirements the salary range for this role in New York state is $54500-$101500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
