Job Summary

Position Summary

The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the supervision and operation of Reid State Community Colleges cafeteria. This role ensures safe sanitary cost-effective high-quality food service and supervises cafeteria staff including work-study students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct activities of cafeteria employees and work-study students.
  • Plan balanced menus for meals served on campus.
  • Purchase food beverages and related supplies and services; solicit competitive pricing.
  • Control operating cash and other food service funds; maintain accurate accounting records.
  • Supervise production of food in compliance with state food sanitation regulations.
  • Manage and control inventories; perform regular inventory audits.
  • Ensure quality control of food and service and maintain required sanitation standards.
  • Monitor budget and assist with financial reporting for food service operations.
  • Participate in college committees and campus initiatives as needed.
  • Assist in preparation of Food.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by college administration.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand walk bend and use hands; frequently required to reach talk and hear.
  • Regularly lifts/moves up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Works primarily indoors near hot surfaces; noise level usually moderate.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Direct and/or indirect supervisory responsibility for full-time and part-time cafeteria staff in compliance with ACCS and Reid State policies.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a related field from a regionally accredited institution and 4 years work experience.
  • Experience with food inventory control and budget management.
  • Current safety training Certificate or the ability to obtain one ASAP upon hire.
  • Current food service sanitation license (or ability to obtain prior to employment).
  • Proficiency with common office and educational technologies (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume food service operations.
  • Supervisory/management experience.
  • Experience with Ellucian Banner or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience working in a community college environment.
