Job Summary

Electrical Consultants Inc. (ECI) is a leading power engineering consultant firm that provides engineering system planning and studies technical consultation project management surveying environmental planning commissioning/testing and construction services to electric utilities energy developers and industrials throughout the U.S.

ECI is seeking a motivated individual to join our team in Boise ID as a transmission drafter. Work includes drawings of general arrangements transmission structures survey phasing diagrams. site plans facility layouts electrical schematics foundation designs etc. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing drafting work manually or by using a computer requiring knowledge and skills in drafting methods procedures and techniques.
  • Using a recognized system of symbols legends shadings lines and layering in accordance with ECI Drafting Standards.
  • Preparing as-built drawings from red-line copies.
  • Preparing error-free revisions of preexisting CADD files.
  • Performing a variety of assignments which may include drawing reproduction handling material supplies and

Minimum Requirements:College degree in an acceptable curriculum two-year technical certificate in computer-aided drafting/design or a minimum of two years concentrated on the job experience in computer-sided drafting/design field. Proficient in AutoCAD and possess a strong computer aptitude in a Windows environment; MicroStation experience a plus. Proven effective verbal and written communication skills; proven excellent level of interpersonal skills; ability to work individually and on a team. Must be detail oriented and possess a high level of organizational skills. Proven ability to work with confidential information. Proven ability to exercise independent judgment. Successful applicants may be subject to client mandated drug and background checking. Occasional travel/driving will be required.
