RRC is seeking a talented CAD Designer - BESS to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Austin/Round Rock Texas office. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate withinternal and externalmulti-disciplinary teams tocreate preciseelectrical engineering designsfor utility-scale BESS projects.
  • Createdetailed designs in 2-D and 3-Dusing primarily AutoCAD Civil 3-Dsoftware andprepare drawings per projectspecifications& client requirements.
  • Create site plans single line diagrams cable schedules and equipment elevation drawings for BESS electrical drawing packages.
  • Work in AutoCADC3Dtocreatesitemodellayoutsby creatinggeolocated electricalbasefiles whileensuring coordination with internal and external multidisciplinary groups referencing each others work.
  • Ensure that all projectdrawingsadhere toRRCinternalstandardsrelevant industryregulationscodesandbest practices.
  • Ability to review and understand equipment specification sheets anddeterminerequirements for BESS electrical systems.
  • Participate in effortsto improvequalityand aestheticsofBESS teamfinal products byparticipatinginelectrical team and multi-disciplinaryefforts to improve and advancedepartmentand RRCstandardsbest-practices SOPs and other documentation.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress reports tomanagers engineersclientsand otherstakeholders.
  • Maintains high ethical and professional standards within the organizationand in nurturing relationships with clients.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES)

  • Bachelors degree in electricalor similarengineering technologyor relateddegree or equivalentprofessionalexperience.
  • 4 years of engineering designwith the use of AutoCADC3Dor other relevant experience.
  • Physical design experience requiredexcellent special awareness andability to visualize 3-D reality while designing often in 2-Dspace.
  • Proficiencywith AutoCADrequiredpreferredexperience with AutoCAD Civil 3D andproficientunderstanding anduse of geographicsystemsand/or GIS software.
  • Knowledge oflow to medium voltageelectrical power systemsrequired.
  • Mustpossessstrong technical verbalcommunicationand technical writing development by effectivelycommunicatingwith internal engineers and externalclientsas itpertainsto specificdesign effectively in collaborative online meetings and communications using Microsoft Teamsand Outlook for e-mail.
  • Must beable to readand understandtechnical literatureand specification sheets determinevaluable informationrequiredto complete complex design.
  • Must be able to read and understandengineering plans dimensioned drawings single linediagramsand other types of engineering details.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge ofutility scalebatteryenergystorage systems(BESS).
  • KnowledgeofPV (Solar)wind powerandanyrenewableenergyelectrical systems at anyscaleis a plus.
  • Knowledge and understanding ofcivil design grading roadsand drainage structuralsteel and concretedesigninstallation of PVC electrical conduit and other construction practicesrelated to the electrical fieldis also a plus.
