Position Summary

The Cabling Technician performs structured cabling installation service and maintenance for low-voltage infrastructure including copper and fiber optic systems. This role involves hands-on work installing terminating and testing cabling systems in commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and support low-voltage cabling systems including structured cabling access control and fire alarm systems
• Read and interpret project drawings blueprints and specifications
• Pull route and secure low-voltage and fiber optic cabling
• Install cable support systems (e.g. cable trays pathways) and mounting hardware
• Terminate and test Cat6 jacks patch panels and fiber optic connections
• Install dress and organize cabling within racks and cabinets
• Assist with creating and maintaining cable pathways
• Perform equipment moves adds and changes as required
• Maintain clean and organized job sites and follow all safety protocols
• Support additional service and installation tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in low-voltage or structured cabling installation
• Experience working with Cat3 Cat5/5e Cat6 and fiber optic systems
• Proven ability to install terminate and test copper and fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multimode)
• Familiarity with industry-standard installation practices and tools
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and schematics

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds of equipment and materials
• Comfortable with physical hands-on work including standing bending climbing and working at heights

Additional Requirements

• Reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
• Must provide standard hand tools typically used in the trade
