About the Role
Movora is seeking an experienced Buyer/Planner to join our Supply Chain and Operations team in Whippany New Jersey. This position plays an important role in the final stages of the product lifecycle from placing and managing supplier purchase orders through coordinating production activities that bring materials to a ship ready state.
This is a hands on role for someone who is comfortable working across both purchasing and production planning. You will build and maintain production schedules manage purchase orders based on MRP requirements monitor inventory needs and serve as a key connection between Sales Manufacturing Quality Control and our suppliers.
What Youll Do
Production Planning and Scheduling
Develop and maintain production schedules that support customer demand and inventory targets
Review demand forecasts and adjust planned orders and schedules as needed
Coordinate finishing and intermediate production activities to keep work moving on schedule
Monitor production capacity identify potential constraints and reprioritize orders when conditions change
Purchasing and Supplier Management
Plan place and manage purchase orders for assigned materials and commodities
Maintain ERP planning information including lead times safety stock reorder points vendor records and pricing
Monitor supplier performance related to cost quality and on time delivery
Request and compile supplier quotes and support negotiations related to pricing terms and delivery
Resolve invoice receipt and quantity discrepancies with suppliers and internal teams
Cross Functional Coordination
Keep Sales Manufacturing Quality Control Customer Service and suppliers aligned on priorities and delivery commitments
Communicate schedule changes expedited requests and expected completion dates
Partner with Quality Control to address supplier issues and nonconforming materials that may affect production
ERP BOM and Inventory Support
Create and maintain Bills of Materials ensuring quantities and revisions match approved engineering documentation
Set up and maintain accurate item and supplier information within the ERP system
Provide pick sheets for sales orders and drop shipments based on customer required dates
Support accurate inventory transactions cycle counts and the annual physical inventory
What Were Looking For
Two to five years of experience in manufacturing production scheduling purchasing or inventory control
Working knowledge of Bills of Materials routing lead times and production capacity constraints
Strong experience using ERP and MRP systems
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain production schedules
Strong communication and problem solving skills
Ability to work effectively across Sales Manufacturing Quality and external suppliers
Ability to adjust priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Business Operations or a related field or equivalent professional experience
Experience with SAP or a similar ERP platform
APICS CPIM CSCP or MSBC certification
Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints
Work Environment and Travel
This position is primarily based on site at our Whippany facility and includes regular interaction with the manufacturing floor. Occasional travel to supplier or vendor locations may be required up to approximately 10 percent annually.
Compensation
At Movora we are committed to fair equitable and transparent compensation practices.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills experience qualifications geographic location and internal equity.
