What Youll Do
- Create issue and manage purchase orders based on production schedules and customer requirements
- Monitor supplier confirmations shipment status and delivery performance
- Expedite orders and coordinate recovery plans when shortages or supplier delays threaten production
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels while balancing production needs supplier lead times and inventory objectives
- Communicate material shortages and delivery risks to Planning and Operations
- Adjust purchase orders as production schedules and material requirements change
- Maintain accurate supplier pricing lead-time and purchasing information within the ERP/MRP system
- Assist with receiving discrepancies inventory variances cycle counts and purchase order issues
What You Bring
- Associate degree in Business Supply Chain Operations or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered
- Around 3 years of purchasing material planning or manufacturing support experience preferred
- Experience supporting a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing inventory and material planning; JD Edwards experience preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills including lookups pivot tables and basic data analysis
- Working knowledge of purchasing inventory control supplier scheduling and material planning
- Ability to work with purchase documentation specifications bills of material and basic engineering drawings
- APICS/ASCM CPSM CPIM or similar certifications are a plus
