The Buyer is responsible for Nucors purchasing of materials products and services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to processing requisitions/purchase orders negotiating and enforcing Nucors commercial and legal contract terms and conditions developing and maintaining relationships with key vendors/contractors contributing to Nucor enterprise-wide purchasing efforts identifying opportunities for cost reduction maintaining supplier compliance files and coordinating with operating departments on cost savings and improved processes. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

- 2 years of Purchasing or Accounting experience in a manufacturing environment or a bachelors degree in a business-related field.
- Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Large construction/capital project experience
- Experience in the following disciplines: business law contract management internal controls inventory management negotiations procurement risk management accounting or warehouse.
- Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP Systems (Oracle MP2 etc.)
