JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Financial Services the Business Office Intern provides administrative and operational support to the Financial Services Payroll and Purchasing teams. This entry-level role is designed for a recent college graduate or an individual completing a degree in Accounting Finance Business or a related field. The position offers hands-on experience with financial processes client service reporting account reconciliations and day-to-day financial operations while developing a strong foundation for future career growth within the organization. The internship will be part-time for four (4) months at 24 hours per week with an 8-hour shift on Monday Wednesday and Friday.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience:

  • Recent college graduate or more than 50% completion of a Bachelors degree in Business Accounting Finance.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of or coursework in basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers including Microsoft Excel Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability and motivation to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Proven ability to provide professional and courteous customer service to a variety of customers.
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with daily financial transactions account maintenance and data entry.

  • Support account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with district procedures.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Provide support with account information documentation requests and basic financial services processes.
  • Escalate complex issues to senior team members as appropriate.
  • Build positive relationships through excellent customer service and communication.
  • Assist in preparing routine financial reports spreadsheets and summaries.
  • Compile data for management reporting and analysis.
  • Support budget tracking and variance reporting activities.
  • Ensure data accuracy and completeness across financial systems.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical financial records.
  • Assist with audits compliance reviews and regulatory reporting requests.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects.
  • Respond professionally and promptly.
  • Consistently demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
