Job Summary

Reporting to the Technical Product OwnerEnterprise POStheBusiness Data Analystrole translates business questions from the Business UnitsCoEs CoCs and Global BusinessSolutinsinto well-formed requirements and userstories andserves as the platforms first line of qualitybyprofiling sources developing test cases and running QA and UAT before anything reaches enterprise release. The BusinessDataAnalystis also the operational steward of product attributionprovidinghands-on hierarchy management during platform build-out evolving into a hierarchy-evolution partnership with the Enterprise Data Architect as the governed masters mature.

What Youll Own

Business Requirements & User Stories

  • Translate business questions fromBUs Commercial ExcellenceFinance Supply Chain andother key partnersinto data and reporting requirements.

  • Write business-facing user stories with testable acceptance criteria.

  • Document business logic metric definitions and data dictionaries for assigned domains.

  • Maintain traceability from businessrequirementsto deliveredassets.

Data Profiling QA & UAT

  • Profile new and existing data sourcesusing SQL and built-in profiling tooling for completeness consistency and fitness for intended business use.

  • Develop test cases and acceptance criteria for POS data productsmaintainedas permanent regression sets.

  • Execute QA and UAT reconciling metrics against trusted baselines before enterprise release.

  • Surface profiling and QA findings to theTechnical Product Owner Enterprise DataArchitect and deliveryleadsas the evidence base for governancediscussions anddecisions.

Demand Shaping & Enterprise Asset Reuse

  • Evaluate business requests against existing assets championing data product reuse.

  • Feed prioritized demand and use cases to the Technical Product Owner withclearbusiness context.

  • Participate inintaketriage and discovery spikes for unprofiled sources.

Attribution & Hierarchy Stewardship

  • Actively manage product hierarchies and attribution mappings during platform build-out serving as operational owner of current-state attribution.

  • Serve as the analytics-facing consumer of the governed masters and attribution crosswalk surfacing gaps to theEnterprise DataArchitect.

  • Partner with theEnterprise DataArchitect onproducthierarchy evolutionincludingcategory changes item onboarding gaps and rules needing revisionwith changes approved through the Architects change process.

  • Validate downstream impact of hierarchy and attribution changes before they are promoted.

SupportBUPlatformConfiguration

  • ConfigureBU-specificdata andreportingviews withinthe enterprise POS platformto solve challenges wherea standard or common solution is notfeasible.

  • Partner with the BI Delivery Leader to keep BU views aligned to the enterprise foundation.

  • Analyze usage and feedback to recommend enhancements or retirement.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Own requirements user stories test cases UAT results and data dictionaries for assigned domains.

  • Document attribution and hierarchy decisions made during transitionalstewardshipso tribal knowledge is codified not recreated.

  • Contribute definitions and business logic to the enterprise knowledge base.

  • Champion a documented once reused everywhere culture from the demand side.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or higher in a related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • Substantial experience as a business or data analyst in an analytics environment withdemonstratedrequirements-to-delivery ownership.

  • Proven experience developing and executing structured QA and UAT for data products.

  • Experience working directly and autonomously with stakeholders across multiple business functions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Rigorous andevidence-driven. Treats reconciliation against trusted baselines as the standard of proof.

  • Clear precise writer of requirements stories and acceptance criteria.

  • Comfortableoperating with significant autonomy across competing stakeholder groups.

  • Curious about the why behind business questions; skilled at shaping raw asks into well-formed demand.

  • Patient effective enabler of self-serve business users.

Technical Knowledge

  • Strong SQL for independent data profiling reconciliation and QA.

  • Power BI proficiency sufficient to build governed self-serve views on an enterprise semantic layer.

  • Familiarity with product hierarchies and master data concepts.

  • Working knowledge ofAgile story and backlog tooling (Azure DevOps Jira or similar).

  • Understanding ofdata qualityand testing practices for data products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Retail POS or syndicated data experiencestronglypreferred.

  • Experience with data profiling or quality tooling and test frameworks.

  • Exposure toPython for analysis.

  • Prior experience supportingproductattribution item mapping or hierarchy management.
