Job Summary
Assists IP Department with the global distribution of API products while ensuring efficient operations of licensing including customer service royalty allocations and sales report consolidation. Support revenue growth by monitoring and reporting on sales royalty approvals and customer volume.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform high-volume review validation and processing of subscription licensing and royalty-related transactions in a fast-paced environment ensuring accurate application of business rules fee structures and approval requirements.
- Investigate and resolve data formula and reporting issues within complex Excel workbooks by identifying root causes validating results and implementing accurate solutions while maintaining the integrity of underlying datasets and calculations.
- Maintains accurate/updated program records lists and files and keeps readily available for budget analysis and reporting.
- Assists in monitoring copyright infringement and registers existing API IP with the U.S. Copyright Office.
- Transform raw data into meaningful recommendations that support decision-making.
- Develop KPIs metrics dashboards and performance reports.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic and operational initiatives.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to complex business issues.
- Monitors and tracks sales/royalty financials as they relate to business growth and reports on progress towards meeting the programs business objectives.
- Assists with the aggregation and organization of various data reports for IP products.
- Assists with watermarking documents for internal distribution.
- Works with internal programs to post various API documents to an online platform.
- Assists with other self-supporting program operations in the Global Industry Services Department as needed.
- Answers customer calls skillfully and effectively documents and relays messages accurately and promptly identify urgent or priority calls and responds within 24 hours.
Key Relationships
- Works with data aggregators to ensure compliant third-party IP use.
- Will work with both API GIS Operations and API Finance on occasion.
Qualifications
- Requires 0-3 years of experience in a similar role and subject matter expertise.
- Bachelors degree in relevant area or other related field equivalent work experience. Some positions may only require an Associates degree/technical diploma or other related field equivalent work experience.
- Degree in business discipline preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate data issues determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Experience working with revenue-generating programs preferably in the intellectual property publishing data and/or statistics areas.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables XLOOKUP SUMIFS INDEX/MATCH data validation conditional formatting and formula-driven analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze cleanse validate and reconcile large datasets to identify discrepancies trends and actionable insights.
- Experience creating dashboards reports and visualizations to support operational decision-making and business performance monitoring.
- (Preferred) Experience with Power Query Power Pivot and Excel data modeling techniques for transforming integrating and analyzing complex datasets.
- (Preferred) Familiarity with relational data concepts and building automated reporting solutions that improve data quality efficiency and scalability.
- Ability to reconcile validate and audit data from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with databases and order fulfillment customer service inventory management financial systems and other management systems and tools.
- Strong business financial management marketing customer service sales/analysis and reporting skills.
- Ability to research and assimilate information accurately from a variety of sources required.
- Ability to effectively manage simultaneous assignments with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to program policies and procedures.
- Customer service aptitude.
- Financial Industry experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Able to remain in a stationary position working on a computer
- Move about the office to access office machinery meeting rooms etc. on occasion
- Operate a computer and other office machinery such as printers and copy machines
- Transport items and equipment up to 10 lbs. on occasion
