Central Lyon Community School District is excited to announce an opening for a Bus Driver in Rock Rapids. This full-time on-site position offers a valuable opportunity to serve our community by ensuring the safe and reliable transportation of students to and from school.
As a Bus Driver you will play a critical role in the lives of our students and families contributing to their daily education journey. We offer a competitive salary range of $38729 - $45277 annually along with supportive resources for your success.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-related activities
- Ensure student safety and compliance with bus policies
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment
- Communicate effectively with students and school personnel
- Monitor student behavior and address any issues promptly
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to supervisors
- Adhere to local traffic laws and school district policies
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Strong commitment to student safety and well-being
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior on the bus
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
