Building Attendant

JOB SUMMARY:

The Building Attendantis responsible forproviding a safe welcoming and well-supervised environment during open gym hours on weekdaysandweekends. This positionmonitorsparticipant activitiesis responsible forequipment set-up and take downand helps ensure that all participants have a positive experience.The attendant ensures that thevariousactivities followtheguidelines goals and philosophy of theOswegolandPark District. TheBuilding Attendantreports to the Recreation Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• On-site supervision of participantsprogramsand program areas

• Assistinmaintaininggymnasium/facilitycare and upkeep

• Setupand take downequipment foropen gym orprogram activities

• Enforce allopengym rules and regulations to ensure a safe environment

• Exhibit responsibility and diligence when following opening and closing procedure of program areas

• Ability to deal with conflicts and issues that may arise

• Communicateeffectivelybut not limited to staff participants and spectators

• Attend staff meetings and trainings

• Dress appropriately

• Ability tofollow directions fromthe Recreation Supervisor

• Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:

• Must be 18 years of age

• General knowledge ofathletics/gymactivities

• Experience insupervisingadult sports is preferred

• Obtain &maintaincurrent CPR First AidAEDand Mandated Reporter certifications within requiredtimeframe

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Work independently and as a team member of working groups

• Ability to work with the public and other staff in a professional manner

• Ability to learn new skills and knowledge

• Demonstrate communication skills oral and written

• Understand andexhibitbehavior consistent with stated values of theOswegolandPark District

• Weekendsasneeded.Times may vary based on programming needs and changes.

Rate:

$18-$20/hour
