BRYT Clinical Coordinator

The BRYT Clinical Coordinator at Greater Lawrence Technical School is responsible for supporting students experiencing significant mental health emotional behavioral or health-related challenges that have impacted school attendance and functioning. The coordinator facilitates students successful transition and reintegration into the school community following extended absences hospitalization or periods of acute mental health need.

The BRYT Clinical Coordinator provides individualized clinical support care coordination family outreach and collaboration with school personnel and community providers to ensure students receive comprehensive academic social-emotional and therapeutic support. This position works closely with the GLTS counseling department administration special education staff school adjustment counselors/school social workers nurses teachers and outside agencies to develop and implement student-centered transition plans that promote resilience school engagement and academic success.

Essential Functions

• Coordinate and support the implementation of the BRYT (Bridge for Resilient Youth in Transition) program at GLTS for students returning to school following significant mental health or health-related absences.
• Develop implement and monitor individualized student transition and reintegration plans that incorporate clinical academic behavioral family and community supports.
• Provide individual and small-group counseling interventions to students participating in BRYT using evidence-based and solution-focused practices appropriate to student needs.
• Collaborate with school counselors adjustment counselors/school social workers special education staff administrators teachers nurses and community providers to ensure continuity of care and coordinated support for students.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings with families outside agencies hospitals and community mental health providers before during and after student participation in the BRYT program.
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress attendance emotional well-being and transition planning.
• Support students in developing coping strategies self-advocacy skills emotional regulation and school engagement necessary for successful reintegration into the school environment.
• Assist in crisis assessment intervention and safety planning in collaboration with the school counseling and crisis response teams.
• Maintain a structured supportive and therapeutic BRYT environment conducive to student learning emotional regulation and recovery.
• Monitor and document student progress attendance interventions and outcomes in accordance with district procedures and confidentiality requirements.
• Collect and maintain program data through internal tracking systems as well as the BRYT portal to support evaluation of student outcomes and effectiveness of BRYT programming.
• Support transition planning for students exiting the BRYT program and coordinate follow-up supports as needed.
• Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding student mental health needs reintegration strategies and trauma-informed practices.
• Participate in professional development program planning and ongoing evaluation of BRYT services at GLTS.
• Perform additional duties related to the operation and development of the BRYT program as assigned by administration.

KNOWLEDGE ABILITY & SKILL:

• Strong clinical counseling and crisis intervention skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adolescents experiencing mental health and emotional challenges.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices adolescent development and school-based mental health supports.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators families administrators and community agencies.
• Excellent communication organization and case management skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgment.
• Experience with data collection documentation and progress monitoring.
• Commitment to diversity equity inclusion and culturally responsive practices.
• Ability to adapt to changing student needs and program development priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Masters degree in Social Work Mental Health Counseling School Counseling Psychology or related field required.

• Massachusetts licensure preferred (LICSW LCSW LMHC LMFT School Adjustment Counselor or related credential).
• Minimum of two years of experience providing clinical or counseling services to children and adolescents.
• Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
• Experience with crisis intervention case management and family engagement preferred.
