Role Summary
The Broadcast Graphics Operator provides professionals students or recent graduates with the opportunity to operate Broadcast Graphics systems for both the Toledo Mud Hens and Toledo Walleye broadcast productions. This role works as a member of the Production team. The roles main function is the operation of Ross Xpression. Hours may vary and this role works game days only which include nights weekends and some holidays.
Essential Responsibilities
- Operate Ross XPression during games and Special Events at Fifth Third Field Huntington Center and Hensville.
- Update player and team statistical data within Ross XPression and linked data sheets.
- Set up/tear down Broadcast equipment for games and special events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Current enrollment or recent graduate with a bachelors degree in Broadcasting Communications Sports Management or related field preferred. Can be a post graduate role.
- Working knowledge or Ross XPression of similar broadcast graphics system.
- Proficient knowledge of baseball and hockey.
- Proficient technical knowledge of broadcast camera systems and/or comparable broadcasting equipment.
Skills and Competencies
- Approaches and engages the community in a professional and friendly manner.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Proficient knowledge of baseball and hockey.
- Must understand basic rules of composition lighting and shot types.
- Ability to perform advanced camera techniques (rack focus fast object follows macro lens control).
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively to enhance game day and broadcast presentation.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Working Environment
- Frequently stand walk sit or stoop for the duration of the shift.
- Occasionally lifting A/V equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Constantly communicates with broadcasters production team members team managers and media about production. Must be able to accurately exchange information.
- Occasionally you will be outdoors in all types of weather conditions (heat cold rain etc.).
- Must provide at least two professional references on your resume.
- Must provide demo reel featuring your work in one or multiple of the above job operations.
