Job Summary

Job Title:Breakfast /Evening Reception Server Status: NON-EXEMPTReports to: GMPosition Summary:The primary responsibility of the Breakfast / Evening Server is to set up and maintain the dining area. He or she is responsible for making guests feel welcome comfortable and well attended to at all times. The Breakfast / Evening Server may be responsible for serving guests Beverages clearing tables and maintaining storage areas for meal & Education:Experience in hospitality a plusHigh School diploma or equivalent preferredServSafe certification a plusRequirements:Work Environment Ability to work:With various pieces of equipment suchas a touch screen monitor printer cash register credit card authorization machines carpet sweeper/vacuum broom various beverage dispensing machines and other dining room equipmentUnder variable temperature conditionsUnder variable noise levelsOutdoors/IndoorsAround chemicals fumes and or odor hazardsAround dust and or mite hazards Physical Requirements: Long hours sometimes requiredMedium work Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objectsAbility to bend stretch twist or reach with your body and armsAbility to work under variable temperatures and noise levelsNear Vision- The ability to see details at close rangeAbility to stand for long periods of time without sitting or leaningAbility to walk long distancesMental Requirements:Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly in EnglishMust be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accuratelyMust be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessaryMust work well in stressful high pressure situationsAbility to multi taskMust maintain composure and objectivity under pressureMust have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from multiple sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular needMust be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guestsMathematical Reasoning-Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functionsMultilingual helpfulEssential Duties & Functions:Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service oriented mannerMaintain regular attendance as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotelMaintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming as defined in the hotel handbook when workingComply at all times hotels policies and procedures to encourage safe and efficient hotel operationsPositively interact with hotel guestsPrepare tables for meals including setting up items such as linens silverware and all sidework and cleaning duties as described in the hotels policies and full knowledge of entire menu as well as daily specials desserts etcPresent menus to guests and answer questions about menu items making recommendations upon requestCheck with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problemsServe food or beverages to patrons and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as requiredRemove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaningRespond to guest complaints in a timely mannerParticipate in department meetingsKeep immediate supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters requiring his or her attentionEnsure compliance with all local health & sanitation regulationsEnsure compliance with departmental policies and proceduresEnsure that all side work is completed before leaving propertyBe up to date on all guest services promotions and events in the HotelNon-Essential Duties:Attend department and hotel meetingsOther duties as assignedRestaurant Server AM
