Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records for the dealership
- Process accounts payable and receivable including vendor invoices and customer billing
- Reconcile bank statements vendor accounts and general ledger entries
- Post deals repair orders parts invoices and finance/lease transactions
- Calculate and post sales commissions vehicle payoffs and policy payments
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing including financial reporting and audits
- Monitor and reconcile vehicle and parts inventory accounts
- Prepare 1099s and assist with budgets/forecasts as needed
- Communicate with vendors customers and internal departments to resolve discrepancies
- Ensure compliance with internal controls dealership policies and financial regulations
Qualifications
- Minimum 13 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (automotive dealership experience strongly preferred)
- Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with dealership management systems (CDK Reynolds & Reynolds QuickBooks etc.) a plus
- Strong understanding of accounting principles reconciliations and reporting
- Excellent organizational time-management and communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
