What Youll Do as a Billing Technician

• Create maintain and update client financial charts
• Prepare review and submit claims to Medicaid Medicare and private insurance
• Verify diagnoses billing codes and claim accuracy
• Post account changes and update billing systems
• Process manual claims when electronic submission isnt available
• Enter non-clinical financial data such as rent co-pays and court fees
• Research and resolve billing issues or liability questions
• Respond to client and payer inquiries

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of clerical secretarial billing or accounting experience
• Strong computer and data-entry skills
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask
• Experience with third-party payer systems preferred
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Spanish speakers may qualify for a wage increase
