What Were Looking For:

Were looking for a detail-oriented organized and dependable Billing Assistant to join our team! If you enjoy working with numbers solving problems and keeping things running smoothly this could be a great opportunity to put your skills to work for a meaningful mission.

What Youll Do:

As our Billing Assistant youll play an important role in supporting billing accuracy reimbursement and the overall revenue cycle. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility review coverage and benefits and help resolve insurance discrepancies.
  • Billing & Claims Support: Generate and review monthly charges identify billing errors assist with claim corrections and support timely reimbursement.
  • Medicare & Medicaid Processing: Review Medicare benefit periods process required Texas Medicaid documentation and assist with Medicare and Medicaid billing activities.
  • Payment & Collections: Assist with payment tracking cash posting audits self-pay collections and outstanding claims follow-up.
  • Data Accuracy: Maintain accurate payer information reimbursement rates billing records and reports within our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with clinical teams patients families and insurance providers to resolve billing concerns and keep processes moving forward.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong attention to detail accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Excel Outlook and Word.
  • Excellent communication customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities meet deadlines and handle confidential information with professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Accounting Healthcare Administration Business or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in healthcare billing insurance verification patient accounts or revenue cycle support.
  • Familiarity with Medicare Medicaid and commercial insurance billing processes.
  • Hospice billing experience is a strong plus!
  • Experience working with electronic medical records billing software payer portals or Texas Medicaid systems.
