Bilingual (Spanish) Safe Care Home Visiting Outreach Specialist

• Conduct weekly home visits and manage an assigned caseload of families.

• Communicate effectively with families in English and Spanish.

• Provide parenting education screenings assessments and referrals.

• Build trusting relationships with families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

• Support community outreach family recruitment and engagement activities.

• Connect families with appropriate community resources and support services.

• Maintain accurate client records case notes and program documentation.

• Protect confidential family information and follow program guidelines.

• Attend required meetings and training sessions.

Required Skills

• Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

• Cultural sensitivity when working with diverse families.

• Organization time management and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize responsibilities.

• Problem-solving and resource coordination.

• Basic computer skills including data entry and electronic recordkeeping.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• At least one year of relevant specialized or lived experience.

• Experience in public health social services education child development or family support preferred.

• An associate or bachelors degree in a related field preferred.

• Ability to travel to home visits and community outreach locations throughout Washington DC.

• Reliable transportation for travel between assigned visits and outreach locations.

Work Environment

The position involves home visits community outreach and office attendance as assigned. Candidates must be comfortable working in community-based settings and maintaining an assigned caseload.
