Position Overview: This position works under the general direction of the Analytics Lead or Data Visualization Manager. The BI Dashboard Developer will design build and refine interactive dashboards that translate complex public health data into clear usable and decision-ready visual products. This role supports both internal analytic dashboards and public-facing aggregate dashboards using Tableau Power BI and related visualization tools.
Key Responsibilities
Build interactive dashboards in Tableau and Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
Develop internal detailed dashboards for analytic purposes and separate public-facing aggregate dashboards for community and stakeholder use.
Translate epidemiologic measures and complex datasets into clear visuals filters labels and intuitive user flows.
Document dashboard logic refresh steps data sources and limitations to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
Perform dashboard quality assurance against source datasets and analytic definitions to maintain accuracy and integrity.
Support accessibility usability and leadership-ready visualization standards across all dashboard products.
Collaborate with public health analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements and desired visual outputs.
Maintain and update existing dashboards as source data or organizational needs evolve.
Communicate technical product details clearly to nontechnical users including leadership and external partners.
Complete other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelors degree in a related field (e.g. Data Science Public Health Computer Science) preferred.
Certifications: Tableau Desktop Specialist or Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated dashboard development experience required. Experience with public health dashboards strongly preferred.
Skills: Strong data visualization judgment with the ability to select appropriate chart types color schemes and layouts. Ability to explain technical products to nontechnical users clearly and effectively. Strong attention to detail for quality assurance processes.

Reaching with hands or arms less than 33% of time. Full ability to talk and hear. Correctable vision required for detailed visual design and quality assurance work.
