Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized behavioral coaching to help clients manage and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Deliver one-on-one job coaching and support clients in vocational and community settings.
- Teach and reinforce healthy coping skills problem-solving techniques and emotional regulation strategies.
- Model appropriate behaviors and assist clients in developing positive social and workplace skills.
- Support clients in achieving goals outlined in their treatment and support plans.
- Collaborate with therapists family members caregivers guardians caseworkers and other service providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Educate caregivers and support systems on effective behavioral strategies and interventions.
- Implement individualized support plans tailored to each clients unique strengths and needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
- Stay current on best practices and maintain compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a Human Services field required.
- Previous experience working with adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred.
- One to two years of demonstrated experience in a similar role preferred.
- Qualified Medication Administration Personnel (QMAP) certification or the ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
- CPR and First Aid certifications or the ability to obtain certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Safety-Care certification or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid drivers license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle record.
- Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment in accordance with organizational and departmental regulations. This screening includes initial and ongoing state criminal background checks fingerprinting sex offender registry searches and abuse and neglect clearances. If the employee has lived in any other state within the past five years equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states may also be addition employees are required to complete a health evaluation or physical examination prior to beginning service to confirm fitness for duty and annually thereafter.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
