CLASS TITLE: BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION THERAPISTBASIC FUNCTION:Under supervision implements behavior modification interventions for students in a school or a home setting. Supports the training and learning activities of children experiencing special FUNCTIONS AND REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:Participates in the development implementation and evaluation of behavior management plans for students. EAssists school staff in the implementation of intervention strategies to follow specified behavior management plans. EProvides information to supervisor concerning student progress orally and/or through accurate maintenance of student in training sessions and attends in-service training IEP meetings as positive reinforcement strategies and other appropriate techniques to assist students in the development of appropriate behaviors. Performs other duties as :AA degree or 30 units of college level coursework in child development special educationOr a related working with students with behavioral plans and behavior Aid AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of:Students with emotional and behavioral management strategies and techniquesPositive verbal and physical behavioral intervention techniquesRoutine record keeping techniquesAbility to:Demonstrate an understanding patient and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups with specialized manage student behavior and guide students toward acceptable social and carry out oral and written confidentiality of student records and schedules and interpret and apply rules regulations and policies as directed by cooperative working relationships with training methods techniques and materials to be used in behavioral interventions with CONDITIONS:Environment:Classroom environment subject to interruptions; subject to driving to various locations to conduct work. The noise level in the environment may range from quiet to loud depending upon Demands:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk sit and talk or listen. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms and stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee may have to deal with students who display aggressive behavior to self and :Possess and maintain a valid California drivers license.
Requirements / Qualifications

Positions are 7 hours per day. AA/Bachelors Degree or 30 semester units of college level coursework in Child Development Special Education or a related field. Transcripts must be submitted with application for working with students with behavioral plans and behavior challengesFirst Aid a valid California drivers license.(1) Letter of Recommendation2 References on the application (1) from a supervisor and (1) from a colleague
