General Description:
Watertown Public Schools is seeking tutors to support students in a variety of academic areas before and after school. Coverage will be split between several applicants if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Offer tutoring and academic support inliteracy and numeracy
- Assure students are making progress towards meeting their IEP goals and objectives
- Assist students in completing assignments across subject areas
- Provide guidance on executive functioning and study skills
- Promote good habits to improve student outcomes and encourage development
Schedule:
- As determined between tutor and family
Qualifications Required:
- Organized accountable reliable and collaborative
- Strong communication skills; able to engage kindly and clearly at various levels
- Ability to develop and strengthen students academic skills through assistance and tutoring
- Youth-friendly adaptable tolerant and able to understand adolescent behavior
- Flexible and able to shift focus as needed
Physical Demands:
The position may require moving between classrooms and actively supervising students in different spaces. Reasonable accommodations may be made if requested in advance.
