In this role you will utilize your electronics design skills to design develop and test battery monitoring units and Battery management units (BMU) for next generation consumer electronic products. Responsibilities include designing electronic circuits producing detailed design analysis selecting electronic parts and integrated circuits to meet the performance targets. You will work with suppliers to develop custom parts where needed and design test methodologies to verify the battery management unit design!
Design BMU from concept to mass production focusing on detailed board level designnPush the boundaries of technologies to maximize performance and minimize volumenCollaborate with multi-functional partners (Product Design System EE Cell Engineering Firmware Algorithms etc.) to ensure the product is developed on time and on budgetnConduct investigations and prepare reports for problems or issuesnDevelop Schematics and BOMs to satisfy the design requirementsnDevelop layout guidelines for PCBs and guides Layout Engineers to meet all physical and electrical requirements of BMUnSpecify custom parts and PCBs for use in BMUsnAnalyze the design with simulation tools and calculations to verify its conformance to the requirements. (PSPICE ANSYS Verilog or equivalent)nConduct design validation on prototypes to implement the designnConduct design reviews incorporate team feedback and release the design documents for buildsnSpecify production test plans and limits and work with CM partners to realize design
Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of studynExperience in analog and/or power electronics designnExperience in electronic circuit design/development with mixed signal systems or relevant
Masters in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of in any of the following: Power Electronics Battery Management (fuel gauge and charger) Portable Consumer Electronics Medical Electronics Automotive Electronics)nExperience with high volume manufacturingnKnowledge of one or more scripting (Python Shell Unix MATLAB etc.) for test automation and data analysis desirednUnderstanding of the silicon manufacturing process and how semiconductor devices and associated parasitic sub circuits are created is preferrednExcellent written and verbal communication skills and experience presenting data to cross-functional teams and/or managementnDetail oriented and strive for product excellence
