Job Summary
Under the general guidance of the F&B Manager the Café Barista is responsible for the preparation and service of high-quality coffee tea and other café beverages while delivering warm and engaging guest service. The Barista ensures all drinks are crafted to brand standards and maintains a clean organized and welcoming environment. This role supports the smooth daily operation of the café upholds service excellence and contributes to creating memorable guest experiences in line with Delano Cafés brand values.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee tea and other beverages in accordance with Delano Cafés recipes and brand standards.
- Provide friendly attentive and personalized service to all guests creating a welcoming and positive café experience.
- Maintain a clean organized and well-stocked workspace ensuring all equipment is properly operated and maintained.
- Assist with opening and closing duties including setup cleaning and restocking supplies.
- Support team members by collaborating and communicating effectively to ensure smooth café operations during all shifts.
- Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally escalating any concerns to the Restaurant Manager as needed.
- Adhere strictly to all health safety and food hygiene standards and policies.
- Participate actively in training sessions and skill development initiatives to enhance product knowledge and service quality.
- Assist with inventory management including tracking stock levels and reporting shortages to management.
- Contribute to a positive team environment by supporting colleagues and fostering open communication.
- Complete all required daily reports and checklists accurately and on time.
- Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by the Restaurant Manager or supervisor to support the success of the café.
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service.
- We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Proven experience in coffee preparation including espresso-based drinks pour-over French press and other brewing methods.
- Strong knowledge of coffee bean varieties grind settings extraction techniques and milk texturing to create high-quality specialty beverages.
- Familiarity with operating cleaning and maintaining espresso machines grinders and other café equipment.
- Skilled in latte art and presentation to enhance the guest experience.
- Understanding of café workflows including order taking beverage preparation and timely service during peak periods.
- Knowledge of food safety hygiene standards and proper handling of ingredients and equipment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills delivering friendly and personalized guest interactions.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support colleagues.
- Physically able to stand or walk for a minimum of eight hours per shift and capable of bending reaching lifting (up to 20 lbs) pushing and pulling as required.
- Quick to respond to operational challenges and guest needs with a calm and efficient approach.
- Passion for coffee culture continuous learning and delivering exceptional customer service
- Working knowledge of federal state and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights occupational safety and health wage and hour issues and labor relations.
- Additional language ability preferred.
- All team members must maintain a neat clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
