Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position): The student rehearsal director will run rehearsals and help clean the dance work along with the student dancers in the piece.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Run rehearsals

-Help clean the dance work

-Assist students during rehearsals

Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)

-Dance experience beyond the beginning level in the genre of the piece being rehearsed

-The ability to demonstrate dance movement material accurately and clearly

-The ability to help students learn movement material during class

-Leadership and pedagogy skills to run rehearsals

-Interpersonal skills

-Be detailed oriented

-The ability to work independently with integrity

-Must have the rehearsal period free and attend all rehearsals

-Must be dependable responsible and punctual

Physical and Environmental Factors:

This position requires crouching kneeling/crawling stooping twisting/pivoting reaching overhead and repetitive motions to perform the essential functions. It also requires exposure to loud noise vibrations and wet or humid conditions indoors to perform the essential functions. Candidates must possess the ability to safely perform the physical work required of all duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
