Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement migration strategies for applications servers databases and infrastructure to AWS.
Assess existing on-premises environments and develop migration plans using the 6 Rs: Rehost Replatform Refactor Repurchase Retire and Retain.
Build configure and manage AWS infrastructure using services such as EC2 VPC S3 IAM EBS ELB Route 53 and CloudWatch.
Utilize AWS migration tools such as AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) AWS Migration Hub AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS DataSync.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform AWS CloudFormation or similar Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Configure and troubleshoot AWS networking components including VPCs subnets route tables security groups VPNs and Direct Connect.
Support server replication data transfer workload cutover migration validation and post-migration optimization.
Implement security controls IAM policies encryption backup disaster recovery and compliance requirements.
Monitor migration progress troubleshoot technical issues and minimize downtime during migration activities.
Collaborate with application database security and operations teams to resolve migration dependencies.
Document migration architecture procedures runbooks rollback plans and operational handover processes.
Optimize migrated workloads for performance availability scalability and cost efficiency.
Required Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Experience migrating workloads from on-premises data centers to AWS.
Proficiency with AWS services: EC2 VPC S3 IAM EBS ELB Route 53 and CloudWatch.
Practical experience with AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) Migration Hub DMS or DataSync.
Experience with Terraform AWS CloudFormation or other IaC tools.
Strong knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server administration.
Understanding of TCP/IP DNS routing firewalls VPNs and cloud networking.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python Bash or PowerShell.
Knowledge of cloud security IAM encryption monitoring backup and disaster recovery.
Experience with migration testing cutover planning rollback procedures and post-migration
