Job Summary

DPP is seeking an Avionics Technician II for an opportunity with our client in the Aerospace industry.

Work location: Onsite in Kent WA
Duration: 6 months
Shift: Fri-Sun 5:00AM-5:30PM
Terms: W2 Contract
Candidate location: Local to Kent WA

Position Summary:
  • The Avionics Technician II will provide hands-on support to Engineering/Production/Manufacturing by performing activities such as test check-out modification fabrication and assembly of electro/mechanical systems.
  • Applications may include electronic circuits power distribution life/vehicle critical safety systems and battery systems.
  • Work is performed from schematics diagrams written descriptions layouts or defined plans to perform testing checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
  • Perform operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
  • Assist in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
  • Perform work in both Laboratory setting as well as work on manufacturing floor or on vehicle depending on manufacturing needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Building different components and assemblies for all groups in all different environments (development test and flight).
  • Assisting with assembly of new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to determine best practices for assembly.
  • Giving regular input on manufacturing improvement opportunities or build changes leading to more efficient assembly.
  • Serve both internal and external customers across multiple systems and multiple platforms; each Technician is a valued part of the chain that supports safe human spaceflight.
  • A focus on safety collaborative teamwork and quality allows us to work together to determine the best path forward balancing speed and safety to create high-quality components that will propel future astronauts and payloads into space for the improvement of mankind.
Required Qualifications:
  • Familiarity working in an ESD EPA and with tool control/accountability processes.
  • Experience using standard electronics assembly tools hand soldering and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
  • Experience with applying torque to fasteners/components.
  • Fabricating terminating and repair/testing of wire harnesses.
  • 3 or more years experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
  • Experience inspecting and certifying work performed to relevant standards and specifications.
  • Attention to detail and passion for space.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour work week (4x10s) with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
  • Ability to earn trust maintain positive and professional relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking potting. Encapsulation and conformal coating)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly fabrication CCA or PCBA repair or component replacement.
  • Experience with energized power/high voltage systems battery systems or RF assemblies.
  • Certification in and/or knowledge of IPC standards for assembly and inspection.
  • J-STD/J-STD Space/7721 Rework and 620/620 Space Addendum.
  • Experience and capability to interface with Microsoft Office Suite electronic work orders and configuration management systems.
  • Experience with documenting non-conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs.
