Automotive Service Technician

JimBaier Ford in Fort Madison IA is looking for an Automotive Service Technician to join its service team. Day to day this role means working through repair orders accurately and efficiently; diagnosing issues performing repairs across a full range of vehicle systems and communicating with the service team to keep customers informed. • Perform all repair work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems including engine transmission electrical steering suspension brakes and air conditioning
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment to evaluate components and systems
• Communicate with the Service Advisor on additional service needs and provide accurate time estimates for additional repairs
• Execute warranty repairs in compliance with manufacturer specifications
• Inspect vehicles and document findings clearly on repair orders

• 2 years of service technician experience preferred
• Ford certification preferred
• ASE or other OEM certification a plus
• B-level qualifications including Diagnostic Electrical and Engine Repair
• Prior experience at a Ford dealership preferred
• Proficiency with electronic diagnostic equipment and strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Strong hand-eye coordination and the dexterity required for precision repair work
• Basic computer competency and ability to learn new repair procedures and specifications
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
