Group 1 Automotive is hiring Lube Technicians for our Shawnee Mission dealership locations including Shawnee Mission Kia and BMW/MINI of Shawnee Mission.

As a Lube Technician youll perform essential maintenance services that help keep customer vehicles safe reliable and running at their best. Youll gain valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced technicians while developing the technical skills needed to advance within the dealership.

- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes tire rotations fluid exchanges filter replacements and other scheduled maintenance procedures.
- Complete comprehensive multi-point vehicle inspections to identify maintenance needs and help ensure vehicle safety reliability and performance.
- Conduct digital vehicle inspections including photos and video documentation to support transparent communication with customers.
- Accurately document inspection findings maintenance recommendations and service results using dealership technology and reporting systems.
- Work alongside experienced technicians to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience with modern vehicle systems.
- Maintain a clean organized and professional work area while properly caring for tools equipment and customer vehicles.
- Safely operate vehicles and equipment while adhering to manufacturer guidelines and dealership quality standards.
- Follow all company safety policies procedures and environmental regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
- Promptly report damaged unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to management.
- Deliver exceptional service by supporting dealership goals and demonstrating professionalism teamwork and a customer-first attitude.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver license.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems (engine brakes tires fluids)
- Ability to perform routine maintenance services including:
- Oil and filter changes
- Tire rotation and pressure checks
- Fluid checks and topoffs (transmission coolant brake power steering)
- Battery testing and replacement
- Visual inspections of belts hoses and filters
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
- Ability to follow manufacturer and shop service procedures
- Hourly Pay Range: $16.00$17.00 per hour
- Pay Type: Nonexempt hourly position
- Compensation will be based on relevant experience skills and qualifications
- Overtime: Paid in accordance with federal and state law for hours worked over 40 in a workweek.
