Job Summary

Role: Automation Solution Architect/Lead Uipath

Location: Laurel MD (Hybrid)

Duration: Long term

Description: The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for solutioning implementing and maintaining automated solutions that improve process and system efficiency reliability and scalability. This role provides technical leadership in automation frameworks tools and processes working closely with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows enhance automation quality and support business objectives. The Senior Automation Engineer mentors junior engineers and ensures best practices are applied across projects. This position assigns and oversees the daily work activities within the Automation Services department in conjunction with the AVP Automation Services.

Principal Accountabilities and Functions

Leads the design and implementation of robust scalable automation frameworks and solutions including AI capabilities where applicable

Owns monitoring troubleshooting and resolving automation-related issues to maintain high availability and help business continuity.

Mentors and coaches junior engineers on automation best practices coding standards and problem-solving approaches. . Ensures cross-training and support coverage for Towers automation infrastructure.

Provides guidance on Implementing performance testing monitoring and reporting automation. Willing to work hands on where needed.

Works with the VP of Business Systems AVP of Automation Services along with lines of business to drive identification of automation opportunities within infrastructure testing operational workflows and business processes.

Partners with VP Business Systems and AVP of Automation Services to define automation AI and Agentic strategies where applicable.

Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in automation technologies and methodologies by researching and recommending emerging automation tools and practices.

Drives process improvements to increase efficiency reduce manual effort and accelerate delivery.

Contributes to enterprise automation strategy and roadmap.

Provides technical assessments for complex automation initiatives and contributes to project plan development aligned with Towers requirements. Serves as subject matter expert and team lead on projects requiring automation.

Coordinates the daily work of the Automation Services systems engineers to include helping prioritize tasks and determine work assignments and following through on tasks and functions to satisfactory completion. Provides input to the AVP in reference to the performance management process.

Performs related duties when delegated.


Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related technical discipline.

Five to eight years of relevant and successful experience in automation engineering test automation DevOps or related areas.

Proven track record of designing and implementing complex automation solutions at scale.

Strong programming skills (e.g. Python Java C# JavaScript).

Experience with automation frameworks (e.g. Cypress Playwright RE Framework).

Expertise with Automation technologies (e.g. UiPath BluePrism Automation Anywhere)

Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g. Azure DevOps Jenkins GitLab CI GitHub Actions).

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker Kubernetes).

Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) and infrastructure automation (Terraform Ansible CloudFormation).

Experience with performance testing tools (JMeter LoadRunner Selenium) and monitoring solutions.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience
