Automation Engineer - Drives & Controls ($95-$110K)

We have an Automation Engineer - Drives & Controls opportunity available with our established automated equipment manufacturing client near the Syracuse NY area. This is a direct hire opportunity.

Your Role with the Company:

Controls Software Development

  • PLC programming (Ladder Logic Function Block Diagrams)
  • HMI development
  • PLC network architecture
  • AC/DC drive configuration and legacy controls integration

Testing & Commissioning

  • System testing and validation
  • Machine startup and commissioning
  • Remote and on-site troubleshooting and technical support

Engineering & Project Support

  • Technical documentation and reports
  • Sales technical support and application studies
  • Cross functional collaboration and customer interaction throughout project execution

Background Profile:

  • BS in Engineering
  • 35 years of controls or automation engineering experience
  • Experience programming Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC drive systems and industrial control networks
  • Experience with HMI development and supervisory control systems
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and industrial automation software
  • Ability to travel approximately 30% including domestic and occasional international travel
