Job Summary

The Audio/Video Technician is responsible for the installation configuration maintenance operation and support of audio/visual technologies used in classrooms conference rooms event spaces and administrative facilities. This position provides technical expertise in the deployment and troubleshooting of industry-standard AV systems while also supporting broader Information Technology Services initiatives including end-user support operating systems workstation management network troubleshooting and technology projects.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of professional AV systems demonstrates excellent customer service skills and actively contributes to the support and enhancement of enterprise technology services across the organization.

Job Duties:

  • Install configure maintain and troubleshoot professional AV equipment including projectors interactive displays digital signage video conferencing systems audio processors digital mixers amplifiers wireless microphones PTZ cameras and streaming or recording systems.

  • Support AV-over-IP and network-connected audiovisual systems.

  • Assist with design deployment and upgrades of AV systems and infrastructure.

  • Program and support room control interfaces and automation systems.

  • Provide technical support for meetings special events live streaming commencements and other campus activities.

  • Maintain documentation including system diagrams inventories configurations and support procedures.

  • Coordinate repairs and warranty support with vendors and manufacturers.

  • Provide Tier I and Tier II technical support for faculty staff and students.

  • Install configure and support desktop and laptop computers printers mobile devices and peripherals.

  • Troubleshoot hardware software account application and connectivity issues.

  • Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and basic administration tasks.

  • Maintain knowledge of current operating systems endpoint security tools and deployment technologies.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and technical support to users with varying levels of technical expertise.

  • Work collaboratively with ITS teams facilities personnel vendors contractors and departmental stakeholders.

  • Assist in technology training and user education efforts.

  • Participate in technology projects system upgrades and strategic initiatives.

  • Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while supporting the organizations mission.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and two years experience in IT field or equivalent

Ability to occasionally lift and move audiovisual equipment tools and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds in support of installation maintenance and event operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and four years experience with industry audio and video technology.

  • Support and maintenance of the industry technology
