Job Summary

The job of Audiologist is done for the purpose(s) of supporting Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing students in an educational setting by evaluating the students hearing listening and auditory processing deficits that can affect their academic success communication abilities and psychosocial well-being. This position will be part of a multidisciplinary team that assists in providing a meaningful education program designed to meet each students individual needs. This position is responsible for receiving referrals from districts conducting audiological assessments and interpretations and providing recommendations for assistive technology remote microphone technology supports and accommodations to the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) team. The Audiologist will work with IEP team members in the instruction and management of individual and classroom amplification and assistive listening devices. The position is under the general supervision of the program administrator and Special Education Director.

EXPERIENCE:Experience relevant to the duties outlined in the job description will be considered when making the selection :Masters Degree from an accredited college/ of a valid California Clinical Rehabilitative Services or Credential authorizing audiology (If no fully credentialed person is available the position may be filled by an emergency credentialed person based upon a Bachelors Degree and a minimum of sixty (60) semester units of audiology coursework including clinical practice)An Audiology License issued by the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board is preferredValid California Drivers License may be required
