Job Title: Legal Attorney

Location(s): Washington DC 20049 (Onsite)

The Legal Attorney will provide legal advice representation and support to eligible clients focusing on landlord-tenant law. The role involves engaging in systemic advocacy conducting community outreach and collaborating with legal services advocates and community leaders.

• Provides timely accurate information legal advice representation including in eviction and housing conditions litigation and/or non-litigation matters referral self-help materials guidance and/or other assistance to eligible clients within and related to landlord-tenant law.
• Engages in or supports systemic advocacy relating to areas of expertise.
• Conducts community outreach education and training events.
• Provides guidance and refers cases to volunteers law students and legal support staff and monitors their work on assigned cases.
• Develops and maintains expertise in primary areas of responsibility.
• Collaborates with other legal services advocates clients and community leaders with the purpose of working in partnership on systemic issues.

Candidates must possess a law degree and be licensed to practice in the relevant jurisdiction. Experience in landlord-tenant law and advocacy is preferred.
