Job Summary

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Maintain accurate attendance records for the campus. Maintain accurate discipline records for the campus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Educatiobn/Certification

High school diploma or GED

Pass local clerical test

Special Knowledge/Skills

Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills

Effective organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to use fax machine copy machine

Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets databases and perform

word processing tasks

Minimum Experience

Secretarial experience preferably in public education

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Collect and enter accurate attendance data into SIS (Student Information System) software on a daily basis foraccurate PEIMS reporting.

  2. Assist parents students and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
  3. Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences as needed and report attendance problems to designated administrators and district truancy clerk.
  4. Follow established district processes and procedures for students with excessive (excused/unexcused) absences.
  5. Compile maintain file and distribute all reports records parent notes doctor notes and other documents as required folowing established procedures.
  6. Perform daily attendance procedures and meet established timelines as determined by district PEIMS personnel.
  7. Support teachers in taking attendance in the districts SIS (Student Information System) software.
  8. Stay abreast of compulsory attendance laws.
  9. Stay abreast of he annual version of the SAAH (Student Attendance Accounting Handbook).
  10. Enter student discipline information into SIS (Student Information System) software. Verify accuracy for PEIMS reporting.
  11. Produce and distribute PEIMS discipline reports to appropriate campus staff.
  12. Attend any/all meetings and trainings as they pertain to student information system software and/or PEIMS.
  13. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain claendar for assigned administrator(s).
  14. Assist students teachers and parents as needed.
  15. Provide appropriate clerical suppot to assigned administrator.
  16. Maintain confidentially of information.
  17. Attendance is an essential job function.
  18. Perform all other duties as assigned.
