Under the supervision of the High School Principal the Athletic Trainer is responsible for supporting the health safety and well-being of student-athletes by providing injury prevention evaluation treatment rehabilitation and emergency care. This position works closely with coaches school staff families and healthcare providers to help ensure student-athletes can safely participate in athletic activities. The Athletic Trainer also maintains appropriate injury records assists with return-to-play protocols provides coverage during practices and athletic events and promotes safe athletic practices across the schools sports programs.
Education: Bachelors degree in Athletic Training Anatomy Kinesiology Physiology Nutrition Sports Medicine or a related field from an accredited college or university; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience that demonstrates proficiency in the required knowledge and degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program :Two (2) to four (4) years of experience in an athletic training setting :Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC) by the Board of Certification (BOC) and in good First Aid certification CPR certification Requirements:Valid California drivers license and acceptable driving record required.
