Job Summary

About the Opportunity
This position will serve as an Associate Producer for various PBS NC productions as assigned and in support of the Content Team known as National and Original Productions. This position will support editorial operational and technical activities and work across pre-production production and post-production for segment programs and series. Duties include story research and development production planning project coordination asset management assistant editing and support of final content and asset delivery for broadcast and digital platforms. The position will assist producers throughout the production process helping to coordinate logistics manage production materials track deliverables and ensure projects remain organized and on position is expected to contribute tangible results and embrace learning opportunities across field and studio-based production teams facilities and content. While the primary focus of this role is development production coordination and post-production support the position may assist on set and in the field as needed to support producers and production teams.

Thisposition is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least three days per week onsite at PBS NC located in the Research Triangle Park (RTP). UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

High school diploma or equivalency and four years of progressive experience in a broadcast television radio and emerging media environment of which one year is supervisory; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Required Competencies
Technical: Working knowledge of the use and operation of a complete range of video media tools with a primary focus on editing using Adobe Creative Suite particularly Adobe Premiere Pro Creativity: Ability to recognize determine develop and/or manage the appropriate artistic techniques and talents required to produce video assets and emerging media digital platforms Communication: Ability to select and effectively convey standard technical information administrative information and artistic and aesthetic concepts verbally and in writing when working with internal staff team members management clients and the public Organization: Ability to work independently and/or under a producers oversight to apply judgment in developing organizing and executing plans for production deliveries Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate by sharing expertise providing guidance knowledge and information to team members to achieve project goals. A willingness to learn and ability to show professional growth in embracing new experiences is a must Customer Service: Ability to take initiative and action that will ensure customer satisfaction in all phases of operation
