This position supports a specialized legal practice focused on representing homeowners involved in disputes with residential contractors builders and developers. The work centers on defective construction claims contract disputes project delays mechanics liens payment issues warranty matters and other constructionrelated litigation.
The ideal candidate is a motivated attorney who enjoys advocacy takes ownership of cases and is eager to develop strong trial skills. Prior construction law experience is helpful but not required.
Conduct client consultations and develop litigation strategies
Draft pleadings motions and discovery
Take and defend depositions
Argue motions in court
Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations
Collaborate with construction experts and consultants
Prepare cases for trial arbitration and evidentiary hearings
Maintain consistent communication with clients throughout their matters
Attorneys in this role receive meaningful responsibility from day one and work closely with a team lead who provides guidance and mentorship.
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Virginia (Maryland and/or D.C. admission is a plus)
35 years of civil litigation and trial experience
Strong legal research writing and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage cases independently
Experience with depositions hearings and motion practice
Excellent client communication and organizational skills
Background in construction commercial or real estate litigation is preferred but not required
