About Curry College:

Curry College founded in 1879 is a private four-year liberal arts-based institution in Milton Massachusetts. Curry is the only college in Massachusetts to guarantee students a job after graduation via The Curry Commitment program. Job Description:

Curry Colleges VideoGame Studies Minor housed in the Communication Department is seeking instructors to teach variousVideo Gamecourses including an adjunct instructor to teach Introduction to Game Design Spring 2026. The intro design course does not require students to learn design software (like Unity or the UnReal Engine) however they are expected to include a digital prototype made in MIT Scratch at this stage of their portfolio.

There may be opportunity for the right candidate to teach additional courses Fall 2026 including Introduction toGames. GameDevelopmentGameTheory Game Design II and other relevant topics.

One section of the Intro design course is being offered Spring 2026. That course introduces students to the core principles of game design including gameplay mechanics rules balance cards and table top modelling a prototype in Scratch playtesting and iteration.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Game Design Computer Science Interactive Media Art or a related field (Masters preferred).
  • Proficiency in PC and Apple Operating Systems
  • College teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrated understanding ofbasic programming or logic principlesof digital system design.
  • Familiarity withtabletop and card game design processes including prototyping and playtesting.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Salary:

$$3735per 3 credit course

*Please note: Eligibility for promotion to Lecturer and an increased rate of compensation are negotiated between the College and the Curry College AAUP.
