About the position:
The Associate Distribution Center plays acritical role in ensuring essential medicines and medical supplies reach healthprograms partners and communities around the world. The position supports thereceiving inventory management storage and distribution of donated andpurchased medical products. The Associate helps maintain inventory accuracyensures compliance with safety and quality standards and contributes to theefficient fulfillment of domestic and international shipments. This role isideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced warehouse environment valuesteamwork and attention to detail and wants their daily work to directlysupport global health and disaster response efforts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enter data into inventory management database efficiently and accurately.
  • Load/Unload donationspurchasesand shipments using various warehouse machinery and equipment.
  • Use HELM Inventory Management System with proficiency.
  • Acquireandmaintainlicenses for Sit-Down Forklifts Narrow-Aisle Reach Trucks and Man-up Order Pickers.
    Ensure data integrity/uniformity throughout all entry and outbound processes.
  • Interface with other departmentsvia Teams Zoom and emailon Inbound/Outbound paperwork issues and errors.
  • Actively model and contribute to Americares values work culture and mission.

Key expectations for this role include:

In the first 90 days:

  • Learn and live the Americares values.
  • Complete allrequirednew hire onboardingtrainings.
  • Consistently perform accurate data entry into inventory management database using bar code scanners and computer workstations.
  • Acquireandmaintainlicensefor Sit-Down Forklift.
  • Learn tooperatefrequently used warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks hand trucks rolling bins stretch wrap machines pallet scales etc.
  • Offload trailers and stage appropriately for product intake processes.
  • Conduct frontline checks and reporting to management on product quality and appropriateness screening all stock forexpiration tampering damage etc.
  • Follow all OSHA regulations and Americares DC policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assistin the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse such as sweeping mopping and other generalwarehouse maintenance.

In the first 6 months:

  • Acquireandmaintainlicenses for Narrow-Aisle Reach Trucks and Man-up Order Pickers.
  • Build stage and load out outbound skids/orders as needed/directed to support successful order fulfillment via LTL AirFTandSeaContainers.
  • Support the Small Package divisions of US-Access and Medical Outreach through picking and processing high volumeorderstobe shipped via FedEx GroundUPSand DHL.
  • Process paper pick lists with barcode scanner by physically pulling materials; packing boxes wrappingskidsand placing completed ordersinstagingarea.
  • Fill out and complete all shipping documents necessary for thevarious typesof shipments shipped through the Distribution Center.

In the first year:

  • Continue to build skills in both the receiving and shipping sides of the business.
  • Be able to work autonomously in all aspects of the role.
  • Maintain all licenses for the various heavy equipment used daily.
  • Take and pass Dangerous Goods Training.
  • Adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures of Global Operations with special focus on the StamfordDistribution CenterSOPs.

Competenciesrequired for the role include:

  • Ability to lift 60-80 pounds
  • Experience organizing and tracking warehouse inventory
  • Experience with data entry in various software systems
  • Technology skills and the ability to learn new software systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience working collaborativelywith a team to meet established goals
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

USwork authorization isrequiredfor this role.

Thesecompetencies are preferred but not required for the role:

  • Fluencyin languages that are spoken in at least one of our core locations (India Philippines Tanzania El Salvador Puerto Rico Colombia etc.) in addition to English; strong preference for Spanish proficiency
  • OSHA Forklift certification andpreviousexperienceoperatingaforklift
  • Prior experience in receiving
  • Experience operating barcode scanners
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or medical inventory control with familiarity of inventory lot numbers and expiration dates
