ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR BOARD RELATIONS AND GOVERNANCE Alumni Association CEO serves as the operational lead for the MIT Alumni Association (MITAA) Board of Directors and its committees; owns end-to-end Board governance function; leads the planning content development coordination and continuous improvement of Board operations; possesses exceptional writing skills and volunteer leadership skills; aligns with the Associations strategic priorities; works closely with several key stakeholders across the MITAA; leads planning meeting development governance administration committee coordination and communications while fostering collaboration across departments to ensure the effective operation of the Board throughout the year.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree; aminimum five years of experience in alumni relations board or volunteer relations nonprofit administration or a related field in a university or nonprofit setting; demonstrated experience administering programs or events that serve multiple constituency groups and stakeholders; excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders; strong planning organizational project management and written and oral communication skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced complex environment; strong attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate polished professionally formatted materials; demonstrated success setting priorities and delivering high-quality work; highly professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information; ability to anticipate scheduling conflicts content gaps and potential problems and proactively recommend solutions; ability to recruit support and coordinate volunteers; proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook). PREFERRED: Knowledge of Ellucian Advance Web or other enterprise fundraising system and web presentation software such as Zoom; experience working in higher education advancement.
Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
