Job Description: Empire High School is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach in developing and managing a competitive positive and educational high school softball program. This role focuses on skill development sportsmanship teamwork and student-athlete growth both on and off the field.

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and matches
• Provide individual and group instruction in softball fundamentals rules and course strategy
• Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance player performance and team success.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes emphasizing sportsmanship discipline and teamwork.
• Promote academic achievement and ensure players adhere to eligibility requirements.
• Represent Empire High School with professionalism in the community and in interscholastic competitions.
• Ensure compliance with Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) rules and school policies.

• Required:
• • Strong knowledge of the sports fundamentals rules and strategies.
  • Excellent leadership communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • NFHS Coaching Certificates - fundamentals of coaching and concussion.
  • Must pass a background check as required by the school district.
• Preferred:
• • Prior coaching experience at the high school club or collegiate level.
  • Previous experience as an assistant coach.
  • Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
  • Experience with student-athlete development programs.
