About this unit

3 Med Surg is a 25-bed unit which manages Bariatric patients/surgeries medical patients and any other surgical patients.

Scope of work

Under the direction of the nurse manager or other nursing leader the assistant nurse manager has responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy goals policies and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
  • Two years of clinical experience Required.
  • Participation in leadership activities (Unit hospital or system Shared Governance meetings Precepting Charge nurse role) Preferred.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required.
