Job Duties:

This full-time tenure-track position will include teachingappliedclarinet music theory and other duties assigned by the chair. The selected candidate will participate in recruitment retention and advising and be an integral part of a vibrant collegial department.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Department: The Department of Music is housed on the UWSP campus in the state-of-the-art Noel Fine Arts Center built in 2004. Twenty-eight faculty and staff comprise the department eighteen of which are full-time appointments. The department has a strong commitment to music education with a full array of performing ensembles (bands orchestras choirs opera jazz ensembles chamber music) and offers the Bachelor of Arts in Music Bachelor of Music in Music Education Performance and Jazz Studies and the Master of Music Education. Required Qualifications:

Thesuccessfulcandidatewillbeastrongclassical performerandaproventeacher.


Doctorate in music or minimum Mastersdegreein music with 4 years of college teaching experience and active professional performance experience



Preferred Qualifications:
  • DMA (Clarinet Performance)
  • University teaching experience
  • Degree or certificate/cognate/minor in music theory.
