Riverside USD 114 Assistant High School Wrestling Coach

Riverside USD 114 is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant High School Wrestling Coach to join our athletic program. This position works closely with the Head Wrestling Coach to support student-athletes in developing wrestling skills sportsmanship teamwork and discipline.

The successful candidate will assist with practice planning and implementation supervise student-athletes during practices and competitions help maintain equipment and facilities and promote a positive and safe environment for all participants. Previous coaching or wrestling experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting with daily practices and competition preparation
• Teaching wrestling fundamentals techniques and sportsmanship
• Supervising student-athletes during practices meets and team activities
• Supporting the Head Coach in fostering a positive team culture
• Ensuring compliance with KSHSAA district and school policies
• Promoting academic achievement and positive character development

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of wrestling fundamentals and coaching techniques
• Ability to work effectively with high school students staff and parents
• Successful completion of required district hiring procedures
• Completion of coaching certification CPR/First Aid certification and other KSHSAA requirements

Season: Winter Sports Season

Compensation: According to the negotiated agreement supplemental salary schedule.

Riverside USD 114 is a 2A school located in the northeast corner of Kansas and includes the towns of Elwood and Wathena which are approximately 4 miles apart. We are bordered by the Missouri River on the east north and south and the west border of the district extends to approximately 1 mile west of Blair. Both Elwood and Wathena have a variety of businesses including agrocery store a post office in each town restaurants a discount store gas stations/convenience stores a seasonal flower/statuary market a newspaper mortuaryinsurance agentsa bank in each townbeauty salons data processing business two Chiropractic officesheating & A/Cservicesbody shops plus many other businesses and trucking companies in Elwood & Wathena. St. Joseph MO borders the district on the east and Kansas City is 45 miles south of St Joseph MO.

Riverside USD 114 was formed July 1 2010 by the consolidation of Elwood USD 486 and Wathena USD of 2020-2021 Riverside High School (Grades 9-12) and Riverside Primary (GradesPre-K thru 2)are located at the West Campus 705 Jessie Wathena; and RiversideIntermediateand Middle School (Grades 3-8) are located at the East Campus 203-04 North 12th Elwood.

Our enrollment for the 21-22 school yearis approximately637 students in grades PK-12. Riverside is a technology-rich district with computers/laptops in every classroom andeach high school student is provided a laptop for use during their high school career. IPADS are provided to students in grades 5-8. Smartboards and several classrooms have Active Panel TVs. We have computer labs on each campus. Our sports program includes Middle School and High School football wrestling volleyball basketball & track. High School baseball and softball are also offered.
