The Corvallis Farm Unit (CFU) is seeking two Assistant Farm Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE) 12-month professional faculty position.
The assistant manager positions for the CFU will be primarily responsible for tasks such as applying pesticides ground prep maintenance of equipment supervision of student labor and other general farm tasks across the Corvallis Farm Unit. They will serve as primary backup to the farm managers in the event of leave vacation sick time and turnover. They will have a variety of duties supporting the research being done and opportunity to grow through continuing education conferences.

Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Horticulture Agronomy or other closely related field plus 1 years experience or 3 years experience experience must be in on farm operations or farm management.
- Active Oregon Public Pesticide Applicators License or ability to obtain license within 3 months of hire.
- Experience with farm equipment operation and maintenance
- Experience with irrigation systems including operation and maintenance of various systems.
- General farm facility maintenance knowledge and experience.
- Must be willing to work in areas where pesticides are present including specialty operations area in Ag Chemical Application (pesticide herbicide).
- Ability to operate a variety of heavy farm equipment power tools and ladders
- This position serves an ever changing and large group of researchers therefore the applicant needs a proven history of working with diverse groups of people to achieve a common goals promoting the ideas and abilities of others.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Computer literacy specifically Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check possess and maintain a current valid drivers license in their state of residence be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.

- Research plot management practice knowledge
- Vegetable management experience
- Permanent crop experience (hazelnuts blueberries grapes etc.).
- Organic experience
- Farm management software experience
- Experience with customer relations people management or other interactive experience
- Experience with pesticide application
- Inventory management
